Cryptanthus Red Earth Star 4 in. Plastic Grower Pot
Cryptanthus Red Earth Star is a small, terrestrial bromeliad from Brazil known for its flat, star‑shaped rosette and boldly patterned red or pink leaves, which stay compact and decorative indoors. It thrives in bright, indirect light, which intensifies its color, and prefers consistently moist but well‑draining soil, since unlike many bromeliads it grows in soil rather than holding water in a central cup. Warm temperatures around 65–80°F and high humidity help it stay vibrant, making it ideal for terrariums or bathrooms. A light, airy mix such as peat with perlite or bark keeps roots healthy, and a diluted fertilizer during spring and summer supports growth. As it matures, it produces small offsets (“pups”) at the base that can be separated and replanted.
